Spirit award winners, spring 2026

Spring seasons wrapped across the board, which means it is spirit award season — our favorite announcements of the year.

In Spring Weeknight, the Monday division spirit award went to a first-year team that finished 2-6 and somehow still hosted the best post-game circle in the league. That is the whole idea, frankly. The Wednesday award went to the crew that organized the mid-season rules workshop after a string of contested calls — turning friction into teaching is peak spirit.

The WGE Matching Spring League spirit award completed a three-peat, and the GGM spring leagues continue to submit the most thoughtful spirit comments in the organization, which surprises no one who has played grandmasters ultimate.

Individual spirit recognitions go out by email this week, along with the embroidered discs. Captains: spirit scoring for SCL is live now, and submissions are mandatory after every game. The system takes about ninety seconds — the standard you walk past is the standard you accept, so score every game.
