Pickup is ultimate with no roster, no fee and no schedule you owe anything to. It comes in two flavors: standing runs you just show up to, listed below by neighborhood, and the pickup lists — when a Summer Club League team is short players for a game, captains email a list and whoever replies plays that night.
There are four lists, so captains can fill the exact line they need: Everyone, plus one per matchup. DoC, DoW and DoM stand for Defenders of Choice, Defenders of Women and Defenders of Men: who you’ll match up against on defense, the same options you pick when you register for a league. Sign up for every list that applies to you.
One signup covers the whole summer, May through September. You get a handful of emails a week at peak season; reply to the nights that fit and ignore the rest. Plenty of people find their future team this way.
Standing runs, all summer. No signup needed; rain calls go out on the lists by 4 pm. Each card says who the run is for and who to email with questions.
